Breakfast at Epiphany
Ever think about your morning routine and why you do what you do?
If you’re grabbing a cup of coffee and running out of the house with a breakfast bar or you drive to work by way of an Egg McMuffin or some reasonable facsimile, you may be missing the most inspiring part of your day.
Mornings can be a time of energizing, hope, reflection, affirmation and great ideas. Stretching, exercising, a bit of sitting cross-legged and a few visualizing moments never hurt anybody.
Lots of times I get that extra mental spark of “hmm…that’s what I can do!” during my early a.m. workout. It’s a great way to set yourself in motion. That doesn’t mean that you gotta get up at 4:00 a.m. to get yourself started. Just a half an hour before your normal wake-up time can put you on the road to clarity and maybe even an epiphany, it’s like breakfast for your mind as well as your body. Your digestive system gets the benefits soon thereafter.
And…if you can squeeze in another half an hour, try walking a few miles. That’ll get you on the move to a better mind, body and emotional well-being as well. You may even get an AH HA! moment as you look up at the sky, at your neighbors homes, or a tree that helps shade you along your route.
