7 Part Sales E-Course
Lesson 4: Think Outside The Locks™
Now that you've spent some time understanding who you are by using the techniques in Lessons 1, 2, and 3. I'd like to take you on a little trip. Come fly with me.
Over the years I've worked with thousands of folks who wanted and/or needed to grow themselves and/or their businesses. I'm often asked, "What's the key to unlocking creativity?"
That question comes with all kinds of meanings behind it. It may serve to ask how someone gets more sales through new channels, motivates their team to achieve successful outcomes, finishes projects in different and exciting ways or comes up with new ideas for everything from start-up businesses to innovative products and/or services, to building and expanding existing organizations in today's competitive marketplace.
It's a loaded quarry. However, there has to be a starting point. And the starting point for me is to survey what is...so that I can see what can be.
Remember that broader view I mentioned at the end of Lesson 3. Well, that's one of my secrets to creativity. While I go into it in more depth in my book "Stand Back A Second, Just Don't Fall Of The Edge," I'll give you one exercise that works for me.
Let's go back to the mirror we mentioned in the last lesson. Except this time make sure it's a full-length one. Check yourself out from head to toe so that your senses (those wonderful things we rarely take full advantage of) have a clear understanding of that woman or man they work for. Now look at your surroundings in the same in-depth way, every nook and cranny. Give your self the once-over starting from your feet and going all the way to the top of your head (yes the very top...the one you've seen a zillion times in the looking glass). As you view yourself begin to think that you're a different person than the one who inhabits that body of yours. Keep going; keep rising your vision all the way until you're above your head, looking at your self and the things around you.
Ahh...you've done it. Now you can see how you're acting within your surroundings. Do you like it? How do you feel about what you see? Not only about your self but also about everything else. How would you change things in order to make them more effective or efficient? What would you invent to create a better environment? What's missing in the life you're watching that would make it more fun?
This technique is not as unusual as you think. You've done something like it many times before without recognizing it. And when you do it you operate on lots of different levels that enable you to do some incredible things...like create!
It's called ViewenicsTM and it can be learned - so that you can unlock your mind to be more aware of your energy and your surroundings in order to create new inventions, achieve new vistas and grow more effective and profitable businesses.
