The Goldberg Theory Of Time

Life and time are intertwined. When you are young a year seems like "forever." The child of four has the joy of spending time playing with friends, going to pre-school, spending time with mommy, daddy, and siblings. A year to that child is one-forth of their life. That's a big chunk of one's time here on earth.
However, for the 75 year old that same year is one 75th of their life. A small fraction of their time here on earth. Think of a clock. One-forth (for the four year old) is 15 minutes out of 60. The minute hand hasn't made it around the dial to add another hour yet - not even close. For the 75 year old, that minute hand has added another hour plus! One seventy-fifth isn't even a minute on the clock. It's a tiny slice of one's life. A fast passage.
The older one gets the smaller the fraction each year is of one's life. That's why it seems that time proceeds at a faster pace as one ages. Of course, we're all really just living in the now, as I noted in a previous post titled, "A Question of Time."
Enjoy your time, no matter how slow or fast it's moving!
