When "Nothing" Is, Indeed, Important

So many people have frantic lives. We were told that technology would make things easier. However, it seems to have made things more complicated, immediate, addictive, and at times, nonsensical. It all started, at least this time around, with the fax machine when people would ask for documents right away. Now it's email, a "thousand" television channels, streaming programs, and most of all the smart phone.
Relaxing by sitting on a couch or an easy chair and looking at the outside scenery (unless the person is relaxing outside) used to be common. Reading a book was a usual relaxing exercise. Now, walk by a bench in the park, people sitting in groups, or those in your own home, and you will likely notice that they're looking at their smartphone and/or texting.
Sometimes, just doing "nothing" is rejuvenating. It can recharge your "soul," calm your nerves and clear your mind.
Put down your smartphone, turn off the TV, and try sitting or lying down and doing "nothing." It can really be something special!
